I traveled to China in the summer of 2006 to visit Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing. The images here are from my escape to Guangxi Province, a stunning landscape far from the bustle and pollution of modern China. After an overnight bus from Hong Kong, I rented a bike and rode along the Li River for 50 km. The landscape was riddled with these tall, tooth-like karst peaks that reminded me of old Chinese ink paintings my father hung on his walls. After Yangshuo, I made my way to Longsheng, "Dragon's Backbone Terraces," for sweeping views of mountains and rice paddies.
